Approximately 12% of veterinary practices in North America have the AAHA accreditation. This accreditation ensures that veterinary practices are operating at the highest level to ensure outstanding patient care is being provided. Animal hospitals do not need to be accredited so hospitals that are undergo rigorous comprehensive on-site evaluations every 3 years.
The AAHA standards that are addressed in order for a hospital to remain accredited are:
- Patient Care and Pain Management
- Examination of Facilities
- Medical Records
- Cleanliness of Facilities
- Emergency Services
- Dental Care
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Continuing Education
Hospitals that are accredited will undergo comprehensive on-site evaluations every three years. At Archdale we understand the importance of your pet and properly caring for them. We work hard to provide the highest quality care to each and every pet we come into contact with. For more information on the American Animal Hospital Association check out the accreditations here.
